Residents in Contra Costa County have access to several programs that make lawn conversion more affordable:
- Lawn to Garden Rebate Program: Offered by the Contra Costa Water District (CCWD), this program provides rebates of $1 per square foot of lawn replaced, up to $2,000 for single-family residential properties. Both front and back yards are eligible.
Contra Costa Water District - Landscape Design Assistance Program: As a participant in the Lawn to Garden Rebate Program, you can receive a 2-hour consultation with a professional landscape designer for each lawn area (front and back). While you pay a $200 fee per consultation upfront, CCWD reimburses this amount upon successful completion of your lawn conversion project.
